Lumen Technologies is a global communications and technology company that provides the digital infrastructure businesses rely on to connect people, data, and applications. Through its extensive fiber-optic network, Lumen delivers networking, cybersecurity, cloud connectivity, and managed technology services to organizations around the world.
The Lumen Cares program is part of Lumen’s broader corporate social responsibility efforts and is designed to help employees support charitable causes and nonprofit organizations that are important to them. Through the program, employees can participate in volunteer activities, request matching gifts for donations they make, and engage in community service projects. Lumen reports that its charitable giving infrastructure has supported thousands of nonprofit organizations through the Lumen Cares Portal.
Key elements include:
- Employee Volunteerism – Employees are encouraged to volunteer individually or as teams for causes they care about.
- Matching Gifts – The company helps amplify employee charitable donations by matching eligible contributions to nonprofits.
- Volunteer Rewards – Employees may earn grants or other charitable support for organizations where they volunteer significant time.
- Nonprofit Support – Lumen reports supporting approximately 5,500 nonprofits through its giving platform.

Our Personal ‘Luminaries’

Since September 2025, Jenn and Erin have been promoting Kassanda Children’s Aid and meeting with other volunteers monthly, bridging the miles between North America and our little village school in Kassanda. They have started a pen pal program, sent handmade cards and gifts to students and teachers, provided school supplies including a new printer and a television for the dorm, paid for the school to be painted, provided funds to support the chickens, cows and Pigs for Prosperity program, and sponsored multiple students for school fees.
We are so grateful for their interest in our school and their commitment to meeting with the students regularly (having to get up at 4 am because of the time difference!). We look forward to seeing where this new partnership will take us! Thank you to all the Luminaries who are personally investing in the lives of these children across the globe. They feel loved and seen because of you!
